Welcome to Local Season
To Our Community,
We’re proud to launch “It’s Local Season”, a community-wide reminder that one of the best ways to care for Portland is to show up for the people and businesses that make it feel like home. This time of year, it’s easy to stay in. But this time of year, is your invitation to get out, reconnect, and keep our local businesses going through the quieter months. As the days get colder, Portland doesn’t shut down, it settles in. It’s not the off-season. It’s Local Season.
We also want to acknowledge what many are feeling right now. Fear and uncertainty are weighing on our community, and that stress touches families, workplaces, and local businesses. When people are worried about safety, stability, and loved ones, it can be hard to focus on anything else.
We aren’t ignoring what’s happening in our community, but we’re moving forward because Local Season isn’t just about shopping, it’s about solidarity. It’s about the people and businesses that show up for our neighborhoods every day, especially when things get hard.
For locals, this is the season to enjoy Portland at your own pace, grab a cozy corner table, and take a little more time to connect. And for visitors, it’s a time to experience Portland like a local and get to know all that keeps our community warm year-round.
So, this local season, please buy local, leave a kind review, recommend your favorites, and keep showing up. Every meal ordered, gift purchased, and appointment booked helps sustain a local business and sends a message that our community takes care of one another.
Thank you for standing with your neighbors. Together, let’s turn on the season! Share your moments with #ItsLocalSeason. Learn more at www.itslocalseason.org.
