Michael Shuman Presents Strategies to Strengthen Independent Businesses

Over fifty people turned out on May 3rd to hear Michael H. Shuman, an economist, author, and director of research for Cutting Edge Capital, speak at SPACE Gallery.

Drawing from his new book, Local Dollars, Local Sense: How to Shift Your Money from Wall Street to Main Street and Achieve Real Prosperity, Shuman outlined more than a dozen strategies for how we could begin redirecting some of our savings away from stocks and bonds and into investments to help locally owned businesses grow.

The presentation was recorded by Strongpaw Productions and will  be available soon for viewing on our website.

The event was sponsored by Portland’s Downtown District, Wild Iris Inn, Strongpaw Productions, Tsunami Tattoo, and Coffee By Design.  We’d like to extend a big thank-you to the sponsors and volunteers who made this terrific event possible!
