Recently, the Portland Press Herald featured an article celebrating HUB Furniture’s 100th year in business. We decided to find out just how long our longest-lived business members have been doing business here in Portland. Here’s what we learned:
The century club:
HUB opened up in 1913
50 or more years in business:
Wigon Office Supply and cPort Credit Union have both been around for 82 years
Century Tire opened its doors in 1926
Maine Hardware is in its 77th year
Anania’s Variety is celebrating its 50th year
Over 30 years:
The Paper Patch is in its 39th year
The Law Offices of Joe Bornstein has been in business for 38 years
Curry Printing and RTP Great Rides for Everyone have both been in operation for 37 years
Skillful Recreation is in its 35th year in Portland
Portmanteau has been crafting bags and cloaks for 34 years

The Great Lost Bear – 34 years (how many beers do you think The Great Lost Bear has served up in 34 years?)
Bonney Staffing Center has been serving Portlanders for over three decades
Going strong at 10-20 years:
