Patricia Chandler: A Solo Exhibition of Paintings opens July 1 at Richard Boyd Art Gallery

Richard Boyd Art Gallery is pleased to present a solo exhibition of original paintings by artist Patricia Chandler on Sunday, July 1 at 10:00 a.m. with a meet the artist reception to follow on the 7th. Born and raised in Maine, Pat’s career as a trained commercial and fine artist spans more than five decades. She received her BFA in Illustration from Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, Rhode Island and MFA in Painting and Printmaking from Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York. After several years working in the commercial field creating illustrations, Pat moved to Minnesota, where she renewed her interest in printmaking, moving back to Maine in 1971. A gifted fine artist living in Portland, ME she creates visual art in a range of styles with a variety of mediums, from oil to cold wax. Although based on landscape, her current series of paintings evolved from realism into expressionism and abstraction and depict her ongoing interest in mood, atmosphere, and spatial relationships. You’re invited to meet Pat Chandler at a reception at Richard Boyd Art Gallery Saturday, July 7th between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. when she will be available to discuss her paintings. The exhibition is open free of charge between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. daily through July 30, 2018.
