Become a Member

Now more than ever, your membership matters.

It matters for your business:

  • We’re connecting you to important resources and updates
  • Buy Local is the voice of local, independent businesses — and we’re advocating for you every day

It matters for Buy Local:

  • Your membership dollars ensure that Buy Local can keep our lights on.
  • We are a lean organization, and as a 501(c)(6) non-profit, we don’t qualify for Federal Support programs like the PPP and EIDL – membership dues are what ensure that we can keep working to support our local business community during this time, and beyond

Becoming a member is the most important thing you can do to support this campaign. Individuals, locally owned independent businesses, and nonprofit community organizations that meet our eligibility criteria can become members.

In more normal times, benefits of membership include:

  • a free listing in our online and printed directory (distributing 25,000 copies annually)
  • great networking through our member mixers
  • educational opportunities through our Brown Bag lunch series
  • exclusive benefits like visibility through our gift guide, member events platform, member-to-member “local hero” discounts, and use of the well-recognized “Buy Local” logo
  • discounted advertising through our Media Partnership Program
  • feeling good about supporting an organization that promotes the “buy local” message in Portland, which lifts up all local, independent businesses, and creates a stronger community

Sustaining Members get additional promotion to our community – become a Sustaining Member.
