Susan opens the meeting.
Minutes for January were approved.
Stacy gave an update on the new website.
Site is live and looking good, Training on backend on Monday the 14th at 12:30 (@ Planet Dog –
Marketing plans to run a series of ads in the coming month promotion the new site (Buy Local 2.0).
We may provide a button/link to members for their newsletters.
Susan welcomed the new board members: Danielle Marks, Elliot Teel and Mary Marsh.
Seamus is also interested in joining the board.
There was discussion of doing a second DWAP this spring, in addition to the one in the fall.
There was consensus that more bags were needed. A media release is also suggested to get
photo-ops and coverage.
Costs per DWAP is about $500 for PBL. Current budget is $750, so we will need to allocate

Joe gave an update of the committee actions.
Kristen’s focus is on member retention.
Joe’s focus is new member development. One objective is to create a new prospect list. A second
is to leverage our Facebook visibility to solicit new individual members.
Stacy commented: CEI did a project reaching out to immigrant owned businesses. We may want
to connect with that list.

There was discussion of developing a Buy Local Ambassador program to foster a deeper level of
engagement in the community and specifically within the workplace.
Judy gave an update on this start-up committee. She has requested a list of what jobs people are
doing and asked committee chairs to develop a wish list.
We should get an on-going call for volunteers on the website. Develop a web sign-up form on the

this can be content for the directory as well.

As a theme for promotion for the rest of the year – the marketing team is considering a more
educational campaign (as opposed to identity) based on: Keep it in the Loop. Choose
Independent. This would run into the holiday season.
We should strive to tie in the directory and poster look with the rest of the campaign so there is not
confusion. Keep it in the Loop could be a bridge element to connect the shift to a new local
illustrator (if we choose to go with a new illustrator). Chris will explain the goals to Amy The and
ask her to provide some solutions. Stuart suggested using the image of the back cove as a visual
identity for Loop.
Chris mentioned that a group has offered to do a <2min video, interviewing local people about why they buy local. Destination is web and social media.
